The Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association and their member E.T. MacKenzie Companies, joined with The Michigan Department of Transportation and local officials in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to announce the early completion of Capitol Loop infrastructure improvements. E.T. MacKenzie Companies was the contractor responsible for the project.

“We are very proud of the teamwork that helped get this job done so quickly, especially the determination and involvement of the community, government agencies and workers,” said Bob Farrier, project manager for E.T. MacKenzie Companies. “Quality roads are critical to attracting businesses, spurring economic investment and creating jobs. The speedy completion of this particular effort will help generate economic activity downtown and keep Lansing on a fast track to success.”

Allegan and Walnut streets will reopen today with occasional daytime lane closures for minor tasks through the fall. The 2005 Capitol Loop upgrades included road reconstruction; sewer and water main work on Allegan Street from Capitol Avenue to east of Butler Boulevard, Walnut Street between Ottawa and Allegan streets; and streetscape enhancements on Cedar and Larch streets from south of I-496 to Michigan Avenue.
